    Civil Services Aptitude Test, a compulsory part of Civil Services Examination ,acts as a first level screening test to the Civil services main examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India. It is also known as Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Year after year the examination is held by the UPSC for positions of ISA, IFS, IPS, IAAS, etc. CSAT involves quantitative, logical reasoning, decision making, mental ability, etc. The student will have to be up to date on current affairs and related topics. At Tapasya , we will help shape students towards handling the examination while pursuing Intermediate and Degree.     1. What is C-SAT?

    Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to select candidates for the Civil Services Main Exam. Those who pass the Mains Exam and Interview can join prestigious Indian government services such as IAS, IPS, etc.

    2. How can I apply for UPSC?

    Candidates can fill the civil services application form in online mode only at the official website: https://www.upsc.gov.in.

    3. How many attempts are permissible?

    Maximum of 4 attempts for general category, maximum of 7 attempts for OBC category, and no restriction for SC/ST category, except age limit.

    4. Is the preliminary exam Subjective or Objective?

    The preliminary examination is Objective type. You will see multiple-choice questions in the exam.

    5. Is there any negative marking for the exam?

    Yes, there is negative marking. For every wrong answer you marked, 1/3rd of the question's marks are deducted from your score.

    6. Can we write different papers of Civil Services (Main) Examination in different languages?

    No, candidates have the option to write their answers either in English or in any one of the Eight Scheduled Languages but must use the same language for all the papers.

    7. What are the optional subjects for the Mains?

    There are a total of 25 Optional Subjects available for the Mains Examination. A candidate has to choose two from them.
